In the end, working commercially, being a terrific artist is about 25% of the task. If that is the only part of the task that you are interested in, do yourself a favor. Don't turn "pro."

This is how I get my equipment around at a commercial shoot.
This is the RocknRoller R16 cart. They are marketed mostly toward musicians and audio techs but they are great for photographers. They come in various sizes and they adjust to fit the load as needed. This model can carry 600 lbs of equipment and at times I feel that I have pushed the limit.
The cart folds flat for storage and during transport. It is very well made with steel and the wheels are large which makes it easy to push through grass and over sand. After loosing two bolts on the bottom the base of the cart extends to accommodate different amounts of equipment. Some carts even have attachments available so that a work shelf or even a laptop table can be added.
If your a Leica fan this is one book you must get.
No camera porn here. This book is a wonderful example of what Leica photography is all about. Photos from the famous photographers and ones that you have never heard about. This is a book about images and that is what owning a camera is about. The work is varied and excellent from the beginning to the end. I just can't praise this book enough. I have the 75th anniversary book that Verena Frey edited for Leica and this book is so much better and three times as thick. It's not cheap but if you want to be inspired by the best of Leica photography I say pick up a copy of this book before it disappears.
The new Leica M Magazine is out.
Issue 2 M Magazine
Leica was generous by providing me with the latest issue of the "M" magazine. It is printed on high quality paper and includes over 190 pages. This is a must have if you are a fan of Leica M cameras. The following photographers are featured. David Alan Harvey, Ayman Oghanna, Valerio Bispuri, Matt Stuart,, Stanley Greene, Bettina Flitner, Thomas Hoepker, Max Scheler, Tomas Van Houtryve, Tobias Kruse, Mary Ellen Mark, Rene Burri, Chien-Chi Chang, Veronique De Viguerie.
Just a silhouette at our favorite park.
This is one of the few times that having a rangefinder proved to be annoying. Because of parallax it took some time to place the sun in the correct spot.
The two just seem to go together
Nikon D3s and 24mm PC-E
Did you know that a perspective lens can be used as a macro lens? The lens was tilted forward so that the focal plane went from the face of the watch to the "M" on the leica.
Walking the streets of Pasadena with my Leica.
Leica M and 35mm 2.0
A lady dressed from head to toe in black. Images with a strong dominate color or tone tend to be more interesting.
I found another use for my tripod.
Lumix GX-1 and 20mm
The Leica Table Top Tripod is easily the most useful accessory that I own for street photography. I purchased it for my Leica M6 and have had it for what seems like forever. I am recording some time lapse with my iPhone and have added the MeFoto Sidekick 360 to hold my phone. The Sidekick 360 is very stable and really light, I don't even notice it in my bag. I highly recommend this setup for iPhone photography.
Just messing around.
Nikon D3s and 24-70
I was bored watching TV so I decided to do some studio work. This was image number 4.
