This is the mission in Santa Barbara California.
Put your finger over the small cross by the roof line. The small detail is very important to the composition. It balances the cross on the top and adds interest to the roof line. There are no lines that are parallel to the edges of the frame, that keeps the eye in the photo. The small dark triangle in lower right keeps the eye from wandering out of the frame. Same for the edge on the lower left. The different roof layers give depth to the photo. Let your eyes follow the converging diagonals, you get a tour of the composition. There is a lot going on in this simple image.
